Medicare Chiropractor in The Woodlands, TX

We are in network with Medicare at our office on FM 2978 at Woodlands Parkway. Here is what that means for you, what to bring, and how a first visit works.

By Dr. Mariam Mobarak, DC

Blue Zone Advanced Chiropractic is in network with Medicare. If you have Medicare and live in The Woodlands, Magnolia, Tomball or Spring, you can see Dr. Mariam Mobarak, DC at our office at the corner of Woodlands Parkway and FM 2978. Covered chiropractic is billed to Medicare, and our front desk sends the claim for you.

What "in network with Medicare" means for you

An in-network office is enrolled with Medicare and works under its rules and fee schedule. For you, that shows up in three practical ways.

We send the claim

You do not mail forms or keep receipts for Medicare. After your visit, our office submits the claim directly, and Medicare later sends you a summary notice showing what was billed.

Your costs follow Medicare's rules

What you owe for covered services is set by Medicare and by any supplemental coverage you carry, rather than by a price we invent at the desk. If you have a supplement or secondary insurance, bring that card too so the claim goes to the right places.

You can ask before you come in

Call (281) 688-5580 with your Medicare card in hand. The front desk can answer questions about how your visit is handled before you ever sit in the waiting room.

Medicare and the $99 new patient special

With most insurance, the rule at our office is simple. We go with whichever costs you less, your insurance or the $99 special. The $99 covers your exam, X-rays and your first treatment.

Medicare is the exception to that rule. Covered chiropractic for Medicare patients is billed to Medicare, so when you call or book, tell us you have Medicare and we will explain how your new patient visit is handled.

What to bring to your first visit

  • Your Medicare card, plus any supplement or secondary insurance card
  • A photo ID
  • A list of your medications, including blood thinners and supplements
  • Reports from any recent X-rays, MRIs or specialist visits for your back, neck or joints
  • Clothing you can move in comfortably

What the first visit looks like

The new patient appointment is booked as a 30 minute visit. It starts with a conversation about your symptoms, your health history and what you want to be able to do again, whether that is walking the trails, gardening or picking up a grandchild. Next comes a physical and neurological exam, and X-rays taken here in the office. Dr. Mobarak goes over what the exam and X-rays show, and you talk through the options together.

Older adults are not all the same, and their care should not be either. Bone density, arthritis, past surgeries and medications all matter. Along with manual techniques such as Diversified, there are low-force and instrument-assisted options such as Activator, and your exam findings shape which approach fits you.

What Medicare patients often come in for

People on Medicare commonly visit us for low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, stiff and achy joints and dizziness or balance concerns. Dizziness gets its own vestibular evaluation, and any sign that a problem belongs with another specialist is referred out. You can see everything we offer on our services page.

Hurt in a car accident?

Injuries from a car accident are usually handled through your auto policy. We bill personal injury protection (PIP) directly, so you pay nothing at the visit. We also accept letters of protection when an attorney is involved. Read more on our car accident injury page.

Other insurance we accept

We accept insurance. We are in network with Medicare, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, ASH, Devoted, Aetna, Humana, Curative, Ambetter and Anthem. If a spouse or family member has a different carrier, they are welcome here too.
